Professor François Vellas, President of AIUTA participated in the seminar organized in Madrid FITUR on Wednesday, January 23rd on "The New Silk Roads for Peace" by the Silk Institute Spain Institute. This co-organized seminar with UNESCO and the "Silk online platform" program presented the three main initiatives, one of which concerns the network of universities, including universities of the elderly.

François Vellas had discussions with Fernando Molina, President and Enrique Gaspar, Vice President of the Institute on the possibility for AIUTA to become one of the main components of this new international network. Also the President of AIUTA informed the participants about the upcoming international conference of AIUTA and CAUA in Wuhan on the Silk Roads and the Universities of the Third Age as well as on the next WSTC in Yantai in China in the month of May 2019.
